Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck

Course Description
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a forklift. Learners will develop the skills to plan forklift work, conduct pre-start checks, apply risk controls, comply with traffic management, shift loads in accordance with safe work procedures, park and secure the forklift. Successful completion of the course provides the necessary competency to apply for a forklift truck licence (Licence LF).

Mode of Delivery
Delivery of this course will be trainer led and delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting combined with skills practice and assessment at client’s premises.

Assessment
The assessment requires the learner to complete a written knowledge assessment and demonstrate their applied knowledge and skills during a practical assessment operating a forklift truck. The assessment will include the mandatory NSW High Risk Work Assessment for Forklift licence.

Entry Requirements
Trainsafe require learners to present 100 points of Identification and a USI number prior to course commencement, be dressed in their normal work clothing wearing steel capped boots and be alert and physically capable of driving safely.

National recognition
On successfully completing the training and assessment you will be issued a Statement of Attainment issuing you the unit of competency: TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck.

Dress and Equipment
Learners should attend the course in comfortable appropriate work clothing with steel capped boots. The course will be delivered on your site at the student’s workplace. All equipment and consumables will be accessed in agreement with the employer.

Licence Requirements
The high risk work licence for Forklift (licence code LF) is issued by SafeWork NSW. Once you have completed the course and received your Statement of Attainment, you can apply to SafeWork NSW for the licence through any NSW Australian post office.
