Course Description
This course provides learners with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate an elevated work platform. Learners will develop the skills for hazard identification and prevention, Pre and post operational checks, raising the platform to a minimum of 11 meters several times and if possible, out of sight of the base unit and shutting down the Elevated Work Platform.
Mode of Delivery
Delivery of this course will be trainer led and delivered face-to-face in a classroom setting combined with skills practice and assessment at client’s premises.
Assessment
The assessment requires the learner to complete a written knowledge assessment and demonstrate their applied knowledge and skills during a practical assessment operating an elevated working platform. The assessment will include the mandatory NSW High Risk Work Assessment for licence EWP.
Entry Requirements
Trainsafe require learners to present 100 points of Identification and a USI number prior to course commencement, be dressed in their normal work clothing wearing steel capped boots and be alert and physically capable of undertaking operations. All applicants must be above the legal age of eighteen years.
National recognition
On successfully completing the training and assessment you will be issued a Statement of Attainment issuing you the unit of competency: TLILIC0005 – and a permit to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more). Application can then be made through an NSW Australian post office for your NSW Safework licence.
Dress and Equipment
Learners should attend the course in comfortable appropriate work clothing with steel capped boots. The course will be delivered on your site at the student’s workplace. All equipment and consumables will be accessed in agreement with the employer.
Licence Requirements
The high risk work licence for Boom-type elevating work platform (licence code WP) is issued by SafeWork NSW. Once you have completed the course and received your permit to operate, you can apply to SafeWork NSW for the licence through any NSW Australian Post office.
